Kathleen Roberts Buckner Weaverville - Kathleen Roberts


Buckner, age 85, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Givens Health Center. Mrs. Buckner was born June 23,


1925, to Sue Capps Roberts and Her- bert G. Roberts in Asheville. She was educated in Buncombe County and received a B.S. degree from Berea Col- lege in Kentucky. Graduate studies were done at North Carolina Univer- sity in Greensboro, East Carolina Uni- versity in Greenville, and UNCA. She taught middle and high school for 36 years in Wake and Buncombe Coun- ties, mostly in the Weaverville schools. Having retired in 1984, she continued Bible studies and several book clubs. She belonged to Western Square Dance Clubs of the area and the Weaverville Study Club. She was the wife of W. Burnis Buckner who died in 1984. She is survived by her daughter,


Dianne Buckner Otwell and husband Vern of Atlanta; son, David H. Buck- ner of Asheville; sister, Mary Sue Rice and husband David of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Wesley and John Ot- well and Laura Buckner. Her funeral service was held at 11 am


Saturday, July 10, 2010, in First Baptist Church Weaverville, of which she was a member for over 50 years, with Rev. Jim McCoy officiating. Burial was in West Memorial Park. Te family received friends from 6

perial was considered a leader in her family, a voice of wisdom, a friend to all, and her daughters named her “the salt of the Earth.” She will be missed and her love and wisdom and voice will continue to enrich our lives forever. Patricia Fore Imperial, age 67, of


Corpus Christi, TX, left us on Mon- day, July 5, 2010. Ms. Imperial was born May 14,


1943, in Henderson County. A graduate of Memorial Mission Nurs- ing School in 1964, she retired as the Critical Care Director from Wake Med in Raleigh. She was a daughter of the late John A. and Harriett Nally Fore. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Surviving are her daughters, Cathy


Childes of Asheville, Patti McKenna of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephanie Knox of Weaverville, and Daphne Logue of Research Triangle Park; siblings, John Fore of Ocala, Fla., Savannah Sweezy of Hendersonville, and Joe Fore of Mesa, Ariz., John Scott of Clayton; and 10 grandchil- dren who were close to her heart. Her memorial service was held


at 2 pm on Friday, July 9, 2010, in Asheville Apostolic Church, 79 Piney Mountain Dr., Asheville, NC 28805, with Pastor Jed Douglas officiating. Te family greeted friends follow-

vers, 76, of 31 Clara Springs Dr., passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resi- dent of Buncombe County and a daughter of the late Herman and Eva Shroat Howell. Annie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmoth- er and great grandmother. Surviving is her very devoted


and loving husband of 58 years, Ray C. Silvers; daughter Sherry DeBruhl and husband Eddie; sons, David Silvers and wife Tina, Danny Silvers and Gordon Silvers and companion Kim Cole all of Weaverville; sisters, Alrie Hunter of Alexander, Alice Huskins of Ar- den, Margaret Griffin of Alexan- der, Betty Robinson of Weaverville and Shirley Keyes of Asheville; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held


at 7 pm Tursday, July 15, 2010, in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Buddy DeBruhl.
