sions she had with Racine Arro- wood at Town and Country Hair Fashions in Mars Hill after can- cer struck Hanrahan. Hanrahan said Arrowood
helped her out with various wigs and made the harrowing time a bit more tolerable. When Hanrahan sought a new
career, becoming a hair stylist seemed a natural fit. “Everything [Arrowood] did
really touched me and led me to really want to pay it back,” she said.
Hanrahan graduated from Car-
olina College of Hair Design and started at Hair Gallery two weeks ago. The family oriented salon owned by Cindy Hyatt is a full- service operation. The salon is closed Wednesdays
and is open from 9 am to 5 pm on the other weekdays. It is also open for a half-day Saturday, although Hanrahan said hours are f lexible. It is located next to Handy
Mart on North Main Street in Weaverville and can be reached at 645-2835.
