A WORD FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Dear Readers, I am personally fascinated by gardening and what a beautiful time of year it is as everything is shooting up and starting to flower. But I can assure you this is not the main reason why Cornwall Blind Association is hosting another Gardener’s Question Forum on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 7th 2010 at Duchy College, Rosewarne, Camborne to which you are all warmly invited.

When the University of Plymouth surveyed visually impaired people in Cornwall in 2006, they found that gardening was one of the top interests among people with sight loss across the county. Some might query how visually impaired people can garden but the reality in Cornwall is that many gain huge pleasure from their gardening pursuits and are also very experienced gardeners. Indeed we have two very flourishing gardening clubs –one in Camborne and the other at Stoke Climsland. At the Gardener’s Question Forum we will have an amazing panel including Alistair Rivers, Tracy Wilson, Richard Morton and Nigel Pascoe, all regular contributors to local radio and expert gardeners. So tell your friends and do make a date in the diary and we look forward to seeing you at Duchy College at the Gardener’s Question Forum on Wednesday afternoon 7th July.
