Volunteers
Volunteer Update
We are at the end of our fi rst year of lottery funding and are delighted to announce our volunteering and local services targets have been exceeded. We now have almost 400 dedicated and supportive volunteers working in all parts of Cornwall to improve the lives of many visually impaired people. You are making a real difference. The spoke co-ordinators and their teams of volunteers have worked incredibly hard this year, introducing people to new activities, helping to build the confi dence of many who have been devastated by sight loss and welcoming them into their community.
Do you seek excitement, want

to meet with others to develop a cunning plan and work together to see it through? We are trying to form local groups of volunteers who can set up, organise and invent new and exciting fundraising activities. Don’t waste your talents, give yourself a chance to explore new horizons. Are you already involved in a local community group that might want to run a joint event? Any ideas would be most welcome. Why not send in a letter to our brand new letters page? We would also like to break the age barrier. While our volunteers are made up of many individuals of all ages and backgrounds, we are keen to encourage many
