Let your online networking be a wonder- ful tool to stay connected to important people - not a replacement for connecting in person whenever time permits. Whether you are sharing family news and photos, or marketing your business or service, Social Networking is a valuable tool. Just remember how transparent this medium is. The conversations you partici- pate in and the conversations of others about you are visible and lasting online. Remember to speak to people online as if you were in the room with them. Avoiding controversial topics is a must. When in doubt about what to say, apply everyday social etiquette. If situations arise when you need to decide whether a networking relationship is healthy for you, ask yourself this question: Does what is said match up with what is done?
