Summertime Smoothies
Satisfying, Flavorful Fruit Concoctions
N
othing beats berries and other summertime fruits for low-fat, high-fiber goodness that’s packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Even better, they’re a guilt-free way to satisfy our sweet tooth— especially in smoothies. Fresh greens up the nutritional punch and allow the fruit sugars to be digested more slowly.
This summer, bring out the blender and whip up one of these quick and easy recipes to enjoy a healthy, creamy treat.
Each recipe makes 1 or 2 servings. Use organic produce whenever possible. Frozen bananas are best; peel and chop overripe bananas and store them in the freezer to use as needed.
