Great Golf at Sandy Lane

A new member joined our hole-in-one club on the 23rd November 2009. Mr. Adam Trussell pulled off the perfect shot on the Country Club’s fourth hole, one of only nine people to do so at that hole.

Only a few weeks later, on the 7th December, we had the most unusual hole-in-one situation not only in the history of our course, but probably in the history of the whole golfing world. Both Mr. Ken Acott, who was at the resort to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary, and Mrs. Cathy Thompson, who was staying at the Royal Pavilion, had holes-in-one at the 18th hole, within only five minutes of one another. As if that wasn’t coincidence enough, we later discovered that Mr. Acott and Mrs. Thompson were born on the same day – July 29th 1949.
