Jamaal Bowen has been part of the Sandy Lane team for nearly eight years now. Every year his incredible cocktails get even better so it’s no surprise that he’s won numerous awards throughout his career. His greatest achievements to date are:

• 1st Runner-up Star of the Year 2009

• Bronze Medalist at the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge, Trinidad, 2008

• Angostura’s Ultimate Bartender of the Year 2007

• Silver Medalist at the Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition, Miami, 2006

• B.H.T.A Bartender of the Year 2006 • 1st Runner-up Star of the Year 2005

Jamaal loves to create new and interesting cocktails and to introduce them to guests at the Monkey Bar. Many hours have been spent perfecting his craft and he’s a great one for cracking a joke as well as sharing his incredible knowledge of liqueurs, spirits, Barbadian culture and food, local restaurants and party spots with anyone at the bar. Monkey In A Tree:

• 1 1

• 1oz. Malibu

/2oz. Mango Rum

/2 oz. Banana Liqueur • 4oz. Pineapple Juice

• 1

Place these ingredients into a cocktail shaker with one scoop of ice and shake vigorously. Strain and pour over ice in a highball or poco grande glass. Garnish with fresh pineapple wedge and a cherry. Then sit back and enjoy!
