The 32nd Annual Cat Show is coming to the Everett Arena on Loudon Road in Concord, Sat- urday and Sunday, May 1st and 2nd. The Seacoast Cat Club, an af-

filiate club of The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA), sponsors the event. There will be 12 judging rings,

six on Saturday and six on Sun- day, with every judging a sepa- rate show. Center stage at the show this

GHANISTAN -- From the Air, Afghanistan’s Helmand River Valley does look like a giant green snake, as it curls through the brown desert. Our CH-53 helicopter provided

not only a safe ride but a great view of the Marine Corps Area of Operations (AO). The Taliban may have had the home field

advantage, and their improvised explosive devices (IEDs) still dictated much of our ground movement, but we owned the air, and the enemy reportedly lived in great fear of what the skies could bring forth, in terms of Marine Corps air power. We were headed for Forward

Operating Base (FOB) Delhi, in Garmsir, where the Second Battalion of the Second Marine Regiment (2/2) had been oper- ating for the last five months. A

Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) staff operations officer had called the battalion the “most aggressive” of the many gung-ho USMC battalions which had been taking the fight to the enemy. I was flying in to see these
