New Hampshire Sheep & Wool Festival
The 34°’ Annual New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival
will take place on May 8th and 9th at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook. (Exit 7 off 1-89). This event is open to the public, and runs from 9-5 on Saturday and 9-4 and Sunday. Admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors, children under 12 are free. This year at the festival, you can enjoy a variety of hands-
on classes, demonstrations, educational lectures, competi- tions and workshops. There’ll be sheep shearing and sheep dog herding demonstrations throughout each day, as well as spinning, weaving, and other craft & cooking demonstrations and workshops. One special highlight of every festival is the youth show, where children from around the state show off their animals and animal-handling skills. Of course there are lots of animals to see and learn about: sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats and bunnies as well as over 150 vendors and wonderful festival food. Golf Tournament to Benefit Boys & Girls Club
Clean off your clubs it’s time to play golf and help the
club in its move to its new location on Fairmont Street in Lakeport. The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region will be holding its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at the Laconia Country Club on Monday, June 14th. The shotgun start at 8:30am will follow breakfast and registration at 7:30am. Lovering Volvo is the hole-in-one sponsor. Other prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and a putting contest will spice up this year’s tournament. Awards for 1, 2 and 3 places for overall tournament and
1 and 2 place for women and mixed teams will be given out after lunch at 1:30 PM. If you are interested in participating ($150/person or
