Maximising Test Results: NAPLAN*- style Numeracy
• Year 2: Numeracy • Year 4: Numeracy
• Year 6: Numeracy
This series has been written in response to requests from teachers for material to help their students to practise for the NAPLAN testing well in advance of the actual tests in years 3, 5 and 7. The books focus on the key areas of the NAPLAN tests and break down each topic into simple chunks with teaching notes, student practice activities and tests. The books also feature full length practice tests written in the same style and format as NAPLAN — two in the Numeracy books and one in the Language Conventions books. All answers are provided.
The pages for each topic and test are also included on the accompanying CD-ROM (as interactive PDFs). These can be displayed and worked through in front of the class on an interactive whiteboard or screened or installed on classroom computers for individual student practice.
Key teaching benefits:
3 Helps students to familiarise themselves with the multiple-choice test format
3 Activities and hints point out the key skills to master 3 Pages include quick, annotated tips on how to avoid making common errors in tests
3 Great short-cut ideas and easy suggestions to help students answer questions
3 Can be used for homework, revision, to supplement a lesson or for ongoing assessment.
