Strategic Maths: Number provides you with a rigorous developmental approach to teaching Number and provides explicit teaching of number strategies. Each book has been designed to allow you to tailor your teaching to the range of learners in the class. Students are assessed during and after each unit to ensure they have developed a deep understanding of the big ideas in Number.
Each 16-page unit of this series focuses on a key mathematical understanding of Number and contains:
3 A Planning outline, listing all of the support resources for the unit on the CD-ROM
3 Resource cards to laminate, and photocopiable activity sheets 3 Assessment activity sheets with rubrics 3 Interactive whiteboard slideshows 3 Hands-on strategy games.

3 Interactive Whiteboard Activities — colourful interactive slide shows that demonstrate the key concepts being developed in each unit and self-checking games that enable students to practise the concepts at their own pace
3 Mental Routines — 10-minute lesson starters with suggestions closed, open and flip questions designed to engage students and develop their mathematical vocabulary
3 Problematised Situations — challenges that encourage students to work mathematically on open-ended problems by devising their own solutions
3 Games — fun activities designed to reinforce the strategies developed in each unit
3 Posters — colourful posters that can be displayed on the interactive whiteboard to examine key mental computation strategies.
