These factual readers explore the health issues involved in an active lifestyle, how health needs change as people grow, develop and build relationships with others, and the personal health choices only they can make.

Health and Understanding is a literacy-based series written for students in the last three years of primary school. This series provides teachers and students with the opportunity to explore a range of health topics that are involved in, and required for, a healthy lifestyle. The series looks at our need for an active lifestyle, how health needs change as people grow, how we can develop and build relationships with others, and the personal health choices students must make for themselves in order to enjoy good health.
Each CD ROM provides the busy classroom teacher with:
• an interactive whiteboard program that works through the key concepts for this health strand
• interactive whiteboard questions and onscreen multiple choice questions to reinforce the content and check comprehension
• A3 colour posters and A4 black-and-white posters which can be printed out and displayed in the classroom
• reproducible work sheets
• crosswords and word searches that introduce and build vocabulary and test students’ understanding of key terms.

The Centre for Hormone Research is a joint department of The Royal Children’s Hospital and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. Bring the Heath and Understanding Big Books to life on your whiteboard or computer. Use the Big Books and interactive activities to introduce or reinforce the concept covered in each strand.
The discs can be installed on your school network, individual classroom computers or used on an interactive whiteboard.
Each disc has been developed to work with each strand of the series and it contains:
3 an interactive version of the Big Book 3 activity work sheets which can be photocopied
3 interactive whiteboard questions and onscreen multiple-choice questions to reinforce the content and check comprehension
3 A3 colour posters and A4 black and white posters, which can be printed out and displayed in the classroom
