THE AMERICAN SOCIETY IN LONDON
The American Society in London held their annual
Spring Cocktail function at the U.S. Embassy. H.E.
Richard LeBaron, Chargé d’Aff aires ad interim, spoke
about the move of the Embassy and the appointment
process for the new Ambassador to the Court of St.
James. The event was a great success with over 100
members and guests in attendance and the evening
ended with a special dinner at the new Italian restaurant
Avista.
The American Society in London also held a Private
View at the Albemarle Gallery featuring the works of
artist Mersad Berber. The artist was introduced by
celebrated critic and art historian Edward Lucie-Smith.
Lucie-Smith enlightened the group on the painting
of Mersad and the myriad of themes in his paintings
including the Byzantine, Renaissance, classicism,
religious, mythological, historic and contemporary
infl uences.
It was a special honour to have the artist and his
family at the event along with the Ambassadors of
Croatia and Serbia.
