KCWC ANNUAL CHARITY FASHION SHOW
The Kensington Chelsea Women’s Club (KCWC),
London’s largest international women’s club (with 1200
members), held its annual charity Fashion Show and Market
at the Chelsea Old Town Hall.
A highlight of the activity year, the event featured
a fashion parade of 12 club members of all ages and
various nationalities and three of their little daughters,
who volunteered to model designs by some of the forty
locally-based jewellery, dress, shoe and accessory designers
exhibiting their creations that day. All the outfi ts were
on sale at the Town Hall on the King’s Road and 10 per
cent of the proceeds went to the club’s two designated
charities: the Kensington Refuge, a temporary home in
an undisclosed location for domestically abused women
and their children, and the Punch & Judy Family Centre,
which assists disadvantaged couples by looking after their
children, aged fi ve years and below, while they train for or
seek employment.
Day and evening wear were modelled by women
with real fi gures, most of whom had never been on the
catwalk before. They show was directed and produced by
Left and Below: Models on the catwalk for the KCWC Annual Fashion Show.
