Indigenous Grandmothers Film Screenings
S
creenings for the film For the Next 7 Generations
are being held on January 10 at 2 p.m. and 4
p.m. and January 31 at 4 p.m. Each screening will
host a follow-up discussion with Reverend Janet
Kroboth-Weber, a Rockland County resident who
serves as a personal assistant to the 13 Indigenous
Grandmothers Council and endorsed public speaker.
The film documents the momentous journey of
13 indigenous grandmothers. Originating from all
four corners of the world, these wise women elders,
shamans and medicine women first came together in 2004 at a historic gathering in
Upstate New York. Moved by their concern for our planet, they decided to form an
alliance: The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. The film docu-
ments the grandmothers as they travel around the globe to promote world peace and
share their indigenous ways of healing. Through their teachings, they are lighting a
way to a peaceful, sustainable planet.
For the Next 7 Generations is directed and produced by Emmy and Peabody
Award winning filmmaker, Carole Hart, narrated by renowned actress and activist,
Ashley Judd, and includes a moving musical score by Emmy Award-winning com-
