CiTY UPDATE : Brandon, MB
The Westman Ultimate Disc League 
(WUDL), based in Brandon, MB, started 
its third season in May 2009, with games 
to be held at Dinsdale Park and one of 
the city’s school yards. The creation of 
the league arose when co-founders 
Jillian DeCosse and Jordan Ludwig saw 
the opportunity to introduce residents 
of Brandon and southwestern Manitoba 
(known locally as Westman) to the 
sport. WUDL, managed completely 
by volunteers, currently runs only 
a recreational co-ed league in the 
summer, but thanks to a good number 
of experienced players many new to the

Starting in 1997 as an early development in competitive mixed Ultimate, 
Gender Blender quickly developed a reputation as the essential start to a 
summer of Ultimate. 
In 2009, 45 teams 
were attracted 
from as far afield 
as Montreal, New 
York, and even 
Nottingham in the 
United Kingdom! Numerous other players picked up with teams from places 
such as Acapulco, Hawaii, Colorado, and Germany. The event has truly started 
to become an international destination for those wanting to enjoy Ultimate 
at its most fun! 2010 promises to be our best year yet, and we hope to see 50
