Victoria
Update
BY DAVE P.
Victoria is looking forward to its big-
gest summer league ever! We will have
18 teams in our Rec league on Wed
nights starting May 13th and our first
ever “competitive” league with 8 teams
running on Tuesday nights starting on
May 12th.
Brett Prairie is to be commended for
a great job in spearheading all of the
organization. As always, there is open
pickup every Sunday at 1 pm (Ulti-time)
at Landsdowne School. Full details are
always available at
www.vups.bc.ca
We are happy to announce that Holli

ing July 18/19th. This popular tourney is
regular Ultimate (on the very best fields
in Victoria) combined with a team round
of disc golf (no experience necessary).
There are only 120 spots so contact
Holli now to save your place at split-
disc@hotmail.com.
Typically there is a magical Salmon
dinner on Saturday on site, and an
amazing site at Juan de Fuca Rec Park it is.
We (VUPS) wanted to make a special
note to recognize the efforts of long
time VUPS member Mike Hofmann. He
has truly gone over and above in terms
of volunteering his skills and time to
help make VUPS that much better for
all to enjoy. From taking 1000s of pho-
tos, to hosting VUPS meetings and help
Brett organize league, doing clinics for
league, volunteering his time during the
day to teach at mUltiple high schools
and going to out of province Ulti meet-
ings, Mike has truly been an inspiration
to all and we thank him.
I hope everyone has a great summer
and that all of your disc dreams come
true.
