Five key ways to drive car hire

The company has many sales reps, and agents can request a visit or in-store training sessions through sales support.

HOLIDAY AUTOS. Agent training

Holiday Autos aims to unveil its new interactive online training programme in December, which will help agents increase car hire sales and revenues.

Its current site offers a training academy with pdfs on how to book, how to drive sales, extras and trade margin management.

A trade-sales support phone line manned by UK-based staff with a trade background is available on 0871 472 5201 between 09:00 and 17:30, Monday to Friday. Contact the sales team for a handy desk guide containing contact information.

Holiday Autos’ main call centre operates a 24-hour/seven-day service for all enquiries: 01483 263 380.

Online support includes a frequently asked questions section and a useful glossary of car hire terms, at trade.holidayautos.co.uk. Look out for daily tactical deals on Holiday Autos’ trade website, while subscribers to its regular e-shots can get discounts aimed at enhancing car hire conversion, as well as knowledge to drive sales.

An ancillary sales tool allows agents to place a car hire URL on an online document sent to the customer, who can click through to find car hire options relevant to their trip.

The company offers four pricing levels. These are: trade margin management, where the agent can mark up their own margins as appropriate; direct pricing, where prices match Holiday Autos’ direct website’s price, with attractive commission rates; and two other commission levels offering marked-up commission rates of 18% and 23% for higher pricing levels.

Finally, agents can get a discounted price via a dedicated concession bookings number (0871 472 5242) or the trade website.

AFFORDABLE CAR HIRE. Agent training

Agents can now sign up for Affordable Car Hire’s Training Academy, which was relaunched at WTM. It consists of several reworked training modules including “Upselling optional extras” and “Overcoming objections to purchasing car hire”.

Point-of-sale material and brochures are available for partner agents to assist selling. Affordable also has a dedicated UK sales team, headed by sales manager Abbey
