Consolidator Faremine has unveiled a new
online booking system offering Atol-protected
flights as well as hotels for the first time. The
system, using technology from Sabre, offers
instant availability and displays the lowest
fares. It also allows independent agents to
book open-jaw flights, stopovers and more
complex itineraries. Fares are a mix of nett
and published prices, with agents able to hold
an option on bookings until the ticketing
deadline expires. Faremine offers online
training and a reservations team for agents.

GOLD MEDAL TRAVEL.
The Thomas Cook-owned consolidator’s
website allows agents to search for hotels
and car hire as well as flights. It also features
extra information on destinations and a
facility to check existing bookings, while
agents can also alter their commission levels
through an online tool. Gold Medal offers
face-to-face training for individual agencies.
