CRUISE LINES’ OFFERS FOR SINGLE PASSENGERS.
■ Fred Olsen has 201 single cabins across its
five ships, accounting for 9% of all its cabins.
Balmoral has the most, with 63, followed by
Boudicca and Black Watch, both with 42.
Supplements average about 65%, though the
line runs offers on specific sailings where the
cruise price and the supplement are reduced.
■ Holland America Line does not have single
cabins, but offers a Single Partners Share
Programme enabling same-sex passengers to

■ Crystal Cruises charges single supplements
of 25% and employs gentleman “Ambassador
Hosts” for dancing and conversation.
■ Voyages of Discovery charges supplements
of 15% on a limited selection of outside
