IRSS Promotes Statistics, Applications

IRSS also publishes five periodicals; the Journal of Iranian
Statistical Society (JIRSS), a research journal in English; the
Journal of Statistical Sciences (JSS), a research journal in Persian;
Neda, a statistical journal for students); an expository journal;
Andisheh-ye-Amari (statistical thinking); and, finally, a newsletter
published quarterly.

education and promoting statistical literacy. Besides publishing
expository journals and books on statistics, it also organizes lec-
tures and exhibitions for the annual Statistics Day (October 22), as
well as programs in continuing education for high-school teachers.
Additionally, it has hosted an annual competition in statistics for
undergraduates since 2000 (the World Mathematical Year), and,
recently, the Isfahan Mathematics House, with the collaboration of
IRSS, held a competition in statistics for high-school students.
The stated goals of IRSS, as stipulated in article one of its con-
stitution, are as follows:
