such structural analogies, the short-term strengths are in the same range as the basic material strength – which satisfies one prerequisite for sufficiently high ESCR. Because of different failure mechanisms during short- and long-term investigations, it was not possible to predict synonymously long service lives in spite of good short-term mechanical properties, said the researchers. The researchers also plan to extend their study

beyond general grades of PE, PP and PA to include PE100, PP-R and PVC in future.

reference, but there is no independent guideline for infrared welding – which is also suitable for use in apparatus and tank construction. A working committee, DVS AG W4.13: Infrared welding in series fabrication, is now developing a new guideline. Its main topics are the process description, material properties and machine and tool technology. The researchers found that both welding processes

Innovation in bi-oriented PVC-O pipe extrusion

Wavin developed a unique and patented inline extrusion process for PVC-O pipe.

Feedstock pipe is oriented in hoop and axial direction, therewith vastly increasing the pipe strength and toughness.

This is the world’s most successful PVC-O extrusion technology, ensuring high outputs and lowest pipe-overweight.

The process can manufacture sizes up to 500mm in MRS50 material (world 1st) and pressures up to PN25.

All over the world we granted partners production licenses. We commissioned 20 PVC-O extrusion lines globally.

Wavin offers its PVC-O technology for license in selected countries. Please get in touch via contact details below.
