Hurtigruten targets Young Explorers with new range

Hurtigruten has introduced a programme for young explorers and increased the number of ships with expedition teams on board for next year.


The line’s just-released 2017-18


Explore Norway brochure features 12 ships and covers 34 ports along the Norwegian coastline. It offers more than 60 tailor-


made excursions, including husky dog sledging, kayaking, snowmobiling and whale watching. The new Young Explorer


Programme is designed for seven to 13-year-olds and focuses on exploring and learning about nature, wildlife, food, the environment and famous explorers. The cruise line has also put


expedition teams on seven ships. These include lectures about biology, geology and guided hikes. The line has also come up with a new cruise culinary concept, Norway’s Coastal Kitchen, with ingredients sourced both from the
