The 2,500sq m building, replacing the current European HQ in Brindas, France, is scheduled to open its doors at the end of 2016.

The new building will occupy twice the current area, providing the space to support the company’s growth. With Distech Controls’ global headquarters located in Montreal, Canada, this new office will allow for the company to best serve and support its clients throughout all of Europe and 44 countries within Africa.

“This ceremony is a true representation

of Distech Controls’ commitment to the European market.

“Our new building symbolises our ongoing dedication to innovation, and our passion for the success of our customers and employees,” said Mélanie Martinez, Marketing &

Communication Manager at Distech Controls SAS.

The new building will feature HVAC, lighting, blinds and access control to achieve the highest levels of comfort for occupants, while increasing operational cost savings.

Humidicaon in public spaces and the push for legislaon

T

he 2016 ACR Show, held at the NEC, Birmingham, last month, saw HygroMatik’s National Sales Manager and Chairman of FETA’s Humidity Group, Andie Chessun, present the white paper: "Humidity and its Impact on Human Comfort and Wellbeing in Occupied Buildings”.

The aim of the presentation was to raise awareness and stress the importance of occupant wellbeing.

Andie comments: “Research shows that the level of pollutants inside often exceeds that of the air outside (caused by confined spaces and a lack of ventilation), impacting on occupants’ health, so why is the issue of humidification being neglected?

“In a workplace, superior

indoor air quality means better occupant wellbeing, resulting in less employee discomfort and absenteeism. Excessively dry air is ideal for a variety of microorganisms that can lead to respiratory problems, infections, colds and sore throats; installing a humidification system means these employers can save money on employee duty of care in the long term.

“We can say with

confidence that the legislation we have been pushing for will benefit both the employee and the employer.”

HygroMatik is supporting this plea for legislation. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of various types of air humidifiers and air humidification systems.
