Very much so, the BPMA has created through its members a suite of:
uLecturer to Student Courses; uE-learning Courses Certified by the National Open College Network; uSpecific Certified Pump System Auditor Courses, for members wishing to carry out independent energy audits.

Being appointed as President of the BPMA is a great honour that has been heightened by my having the added good fortune that my term in office coincides with the 75th Anniversary of the BPMA.
The role of the BPMA goes beyond addressing issues relating to legislation, but is also there to provide focus and direction to the wider industry in order to satisfy member and non-member requirements and maintain the highest standards and best practice within the industry. I expect there to be many challenges during my tenure in office. However, I am confident that we can increase the profile of the BPMA, tackle these challenges collectively and I firmly believe that we can look forward to the future with confidence. We are in the great position of having a strong membership base, a firm strategy for the future and the willingness and drive to see projects through.

It came about as part of the Pump industries Energy Strategy of:
uproduct approach: improving the efficiency of the hydraulics of the pump; uextended product approach: which is improving the control of a pumping system; usystems approach: looking at improving pumping systems in the installed base. To achieve a “systems approach” on an existing pumping system you need to know the system demand, in other words the minimum flow and pressure the system needs to operate. We started the CPSA back in 2009 with help from the Department Of Energy in the USA and fully launched the scheme in 2010. The goal is to train a person to carry out a pump system related audit
What is the BPMA Certified Pump System (CPSA) Auditor Scheme and how did that
in accordance with ISO 14414 (Pump System Assessments). The scheme has been highlighted in UK Government related ESOS documents as a correct way to achieve energy savings in existing pumping systems.

Do you have a website?
A new BPMA website was launched in January 2016 to hopefully be more user friendly to our members and also other guests viewing the website. The main feature from an end user perspective is the “Pump Search”. By entering simpley details an end user can find who in BPMA membership makes this type of product.
