practical solution to a common problem. It can be frustrating when you need to use a small sensor that only runs on 24V DC but there’s only a mains supply available: but now with the two new switching amplifiers from ifm electronic Ltd there is a practical solution. The new DN0210 and DN0220 don’t need much space themselves, as they are only 25mm wide. Both will operate on a wide input voltage of 110 to 240V AC and supply a constant 24V DC to connected sensors, with relays to signal the switching. In the case of the DN0210 there is one changeover contact for one sensor, while the DN0220 offers two separate outputs from two independent sensors. It makes no difference if the sensors are positive or negative switching as either can be connected, and 300mA (or 2 x 150mA) is available for the sensor consumption.

urtiss-Wright Corporation today announced its Industrial division has launched the JC1200, a next-generation, cost-effective paddle joystick from the Corporation’s brand family of Penny & Giles.
By using a long-life bearing system and non-contacting Hall-effect sensing technology, the JC1200 has achieved a long operating life of 25 million cycles while providing functionality that is smooth and easy to operate.
Key features of the JC1200 include:
• An under-panel depth of 9mm, requiring minimal installation space.
• A spring-loaded return-to-center or return-to-end paddle movement. • Integrated panel seal and IP67 protection – suitable for outside use.
• A choice of nine colored paddle ‘Tabs’, which can be factory fitted or supplied separately and added as part of the final customer installation process.
The JC1200 launches with a 5Vdc supply voltage and the option for factory-programmable electronics configured to one of two analog voltage output ranges (0.5-4.5V or 1.0-4.0V). The joystick also provides safety functionality via dual outputs, which can be set to positive or negative ramps, or a combination of both. This offers system designers the option to compare the output signals for error checking.
The JC1200 paddle joystick builds on the success of the potentiometric-based JC120 and is ideal for use in control panels and armrests found in industrial trucks, agricultural equipment and construction machinery, where cost-effective, long-life operator controls are essential.

Weidmüller appoints new Managing Director in the UK
company, Weidmüller UK, as its new Managing Director as from December 1, 2015. He brings to the company a wealth of experience with previous successful management appointments at renowned global companies such as Omron Electronics and B+R Industrial Automation.

Mr Goodwin will have overall responsibility for developing and driving Weidmüller forward, providing strategic leadership and overseeing all the company’s activities in the UK and Ireland. CE increased their range of products by the PCE- PA 8300 power and harmonics analyser which measures voltage, current, effective, apparent and reactive power as well as active and apparent energy. It determines the power factor, delay angle, frequency and harmonics. Values are indicated in the LC display and can be stored to the SD card. Two versions are available, i. e. with current clamps or Rogowski coils. The PCE-PA 8300 comes with 3 current clamps (depending on version), 4 insulated alligator clips, 4 safety test lines, 6 batteries, a mains adaptor, a carrying case, a 2 GB SD card and a manual.
