OMAHA NORTH PLATTE

Memorial Park on East 4th Street. Enjoying the Region

North Platte has bountiful chain

hotels and eateries, but get some local flavor while you’re in town. The Log Cabin Cafe on U.S. 30 heading west out

of town is where the railroaders eat, thanks to a convenient dirt road that comes out of Bailey Yard. You can get a good burger here. Also, the airport east of town has the Lincoln Highway Diner and its own history, as it was the landing spot for the first night U.S. Mail delivery

flight in 1921. If you like trains in quantity, North

Platte is the place to be. It can be easily combined with a trip to Crawford Hill in northwest Nebraska and the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. Just head for the wild west!
