Progressive-Position Pistol National Championships August 1 -2 Colorado Springs, Colo. and Fort Benning, Ga. Air Pistol athletes from
all walks of life enjoyed both individual and team success at this year’s Progressive Position Air Pistol (PPP) Na- tional Championship. This year’s champion-
ship brought a record 150 competitors to one of two regional venues, USA Shoot- ing’s International Shooting Center in Colorado Springs (which held 85 competitors) or the U.S. Army Marksman- ship Unit (USAMU) in Fort Benning, Georgia (which held 65). As athletes com- peted at the two locations, volunteer
staff from both
sides of the country totaled the match scores and com- bined them for regional and overall National titles. Both of this year’s Inter- national Standing National Champions came from the Colorado Springs venue,
where Anthony McCollum (Purdin, Missouri) earned his way onto USA Shoot- ing’s Junior Olympic Squad for not only a record-setting 4XDOLÀ FDWLRQ VFRUH RI EXW DOVR IRU KLV VWHOODU À QDOV win shortly after.
