MEMBER NOTES

Calling All Recruiters By Curtis Younts, Association Promotion Committee chair

T

EXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE RAISERS ASSOCIATION (TSCRA) MEMBER- ship continues to increase. As of this writing, TSCRA has 17,125

members and we plan to add to this total by the end of the year. Key to our continued growth is the Regional Association Promo-

tion (RAP) Team. The RAP Team is responsible for helping advance TSCRA membership by providing local support and coordination of member recruitment and retention activities. This support can be as simple as suggesting locations for an event or calling local members to invite them to attend a TSCRA function. One volunteer from each of the TSCRA regions makes up today’s

RAP Team. The team is led by the Association Promotion Committee chair and vice chair (currently Claude Koontz). See the list of RAP Team members (left). These individuals have put in countless hours helping to strengthen TSCRA and expanding our presence through local events. As hard as the RAP Team works, we still need your help. TSCRA

has members across more than 338,000 square miles. That is a lot of country for these volunteers to cover. We are looking for additional RAP Team members to help provide local knowledge and support of TSCRA programs. Serving as a RAP Team member is a rewarding experience. This

is an active volunteer role — you provide direct input to a program and then see your suggestions implemented within a very short time. RAP Team members are leaders within their ranching communities and have much to gain personally and professionally from being in- volved in the local TSCRA events. The time commitment for serving as a RAP Team member is

minimal. We have a 30-minute conference call once a month and a 1-day planning meeting in January. TSCRA staff takes RAP Team input and coordinates the events for us. I am asking for your help. Please consider volunteering as a RAP

Team member. TSCRA needs to continue growing and needs your help to make this happen. If you would like to be a RAP Team mem- ber or have any questions about serving on the RAP Team, please call or email our staff liaison, Tim Niedecken, at 817-332-7064 or tniedecken@tscra.org.
