earning analytics is the measurement, processing and (not surprisingly) the analysis of educational data in order to decipher trends in student performance and interaction. Vital pieces of information are gathered while learners are engaging in e-learning


courses, such as how quickly they complete a module, their scores on individual tests or their participation in discussion boards. Examining these digital traces, learning designers can get a better sense of the learning experience which enables them to optimise educational practices and techniques. By analysing a learner’s performance, skill level and personal interests,


a designer can determine which learning materials will be most useful and relevant to each individual. Essentially, if you understand your learners’ behaviours, you can make sure that every component of an e-learning course is helping them to achieve their goals.
