Martyn Stevenson-Read


Martyn leads a digital learning and media team within BT’s Academy – producing e-learning, animations, live action video and web designs to enable learning across a 90,000 workforce. His role also involves seeking out new and innovative ways to drive learning company-wide. This is his


fi rst year on the judging panel following a number of years winning E-Learning Awards along with his team – the latest being for ‘Most innovative learning product’ in 2014. He is also an eLN board member and editor of the eLN blog.


Sam Taylor


Sam is the former chair of the eLN, serving on the board from 2010-2014. She has held a number of roles in elearning, from project management to instructional design to consultancy in both the public and private sectors, for organisations such as Tesco and Barclaycard. Her passion is


strategy and best practice in learning design.


Marnie Threapleton As head of advisory services for Towards Maturity, Marnie’s responsibilities include devising and delivering benchmarking services and solutions to turn data into insights and insights into action to enable the development of learning strategies that meet the needs of organisations.


She is passionate about aligning business strategy to performance and has over 25 years experience and proven ability to deliver results in commercial environments. Marnie works with organisations to improve business outcomes and performance, maximize engagement and minimize risk. She has delivered workshops and multiple thought-leadership speaking engagements as well as acting as an advisor to growing businesses.


Leigh van Wyk Leigh is the director of learning at Ogilvy Healthworld. She is passionate about communicating and learning in the digital age. She believes in open collaboration, quality partnerships and the power of collective intelligence to challenge the way we work now and will work in the future.


Leigh has spent the last 10 years working in London-based, award-winning


network agencies. Her experience spans the full spectrum of healthcare communication activities, from traditional medical education to promotion. At Ogilvy Healthworld, she works closely with pharmaceutical clients to deliver outcomes-based learning solutions designed to effect health behaviour change. Leigh also leads an internal initiative, Learning for Health, which is exploring innovative ways to apply the science of learning to healthcare communications.


Lisa Walker


Lisa is an e-learning design specialist at TalkTalk. She has 10 years’ experience in designing innovative training solutions for the NHS, local government and the insurance and telecoms industries. She has conducted research into the impact of user-generated video content in corporate training and is currently working on developing a suite of


multimedia learning resources for partner organisations across the telecoms industry. She’s excited to be returning for her second year as a judge.


Julie Wedgwood Working across a wide range of industry sectors in the UK, EMEA and USA for over 25 years, Julie has gained recognition as a leading learning architect, a thought leader in blended learning design, and an active curator and exponent of learning technology. Julie provides strategic


and practical consultancy on the use of learning technology, with particular focus on online learning communities design, e-learning simulations and learning games. She is delighted to be judging the E-Learning Awards again.


Paul White Paul of Learning By Design has over 20 years’ experience creating learning solutions across the private, public and third sectors. Paul was bitten by the e-learning bug while working as a BBC television producer. He went on to design a wide range of products, including highly structured


academic modules, outstanding therapy programmes, brief learning bites and tools for collaborative working. Paul believes that the key factors which underpin outstanding e-learning projects are a great concept, clever and meticulous design and immaculate execution. As a judge, Paul is looking for products or services that have two qualities which are not always mutually inclusive: effi cacy and learner satisfaction.


David Wood David has held a number of senior corporate learning and development roles in the public and private sectors, and is currently supporting a number of companies looking to maximise their online sales. David is the founder and managing director of the Jam Pan Learning Marketplace,


where businesses, suppliers, agencies and individuals can connect to work together. David has been a previous winner of a number of E-Learning Awards and joined the panel of judges four years ago.
