ELCA youth and Presid- ing Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton spruce up a shelter for homeless veterans who participate in Mighty Voices of Hope, a Detroit organiza- tion that assists homeless men with meals and housing and engages them through a community choir. The veterans cooked and sang for the youth during their lunch break.

The shelter is owned by Eunice Banks (right), an avid supporter of Mighty Voices of Hope. The war veteran says her commitment to civilians and veter- ans who are homeless is inspired by her faith: “It’s always been my dream to serve God and follow his direction in helping others. It is wonderful to see the youth here, helping out.”
