Modern 53-foot Wabash DuraPlate Trailers from Athearn
HO — Athearn’s HO-scale contem- porary (1996-forward) prototype 53-foot Wabash National DuraPlate trailer will return in the manufac- turer’s Ready To Roll series next spring in six paint schemes. An- nounced road names for this re- lease include Crete, Heartland Express, Knight Transportation, Roadway Express, Swift, and U.S. Xpress Enterprises. Three different road numbers will be offered for each scheme. The model will feature separate etched-metal hazmat plac- ards (where applicable), separately painted mud flaps, lights, conspicu- ity striping, four separately applied door closure rods, sand-shoe land- ing gear, and a positionable sliding tandem. Eight rubber tires with five-hole wheel rims will be applied as appropriate. Each trailer will re- tail for $26.98. Athearn expects this release to
