the sales team, so please drop by our table to say hello – and maybe show off your new award to us!

Q Do you have any particular memories of previous AAAs? A It’s always a fantastic night and we like to bring the fun to the evening. We’ve brought some great entertainment to the event in the past, including Rylan Clark and Rough Copy. This year we’re bringing something amazing which the audience will really enjoy – so watch this space.

Q Winning an AAA is a huge honour for agents. How has it felt when you’ve won awards? A It’s a fantastic feeling and encapsulates the hard work and efforts of the whole team in one go. We’ve been lucky to win several awards over the years, including the 2015 Travel Weekly Globe as Best Premium Escorted Touring Operator. That’s a particularly important one, as it is voted for by agents.

Q Travel Weekly acquired the AAAs as we see such a bright future for agents. Tell us how you expect the agency sector to evolve in the coming years. A Over the past two years we’ve seen a resurgence of the high street travel agent, as well as growth in homeworking and more specialist agents. Our strategy towards the trade hasn’t changed and we’ll always be dedicated to delivering an award-winning product and fantastic service for agents and their guests.

Q The AAAs has changed beyond recognition in the past three years. Tell us how your business has changed in that period. A Just over 12 months ago, we separated out the sister brands that were under the One Stop Touring Shop umbrella, to allow us to sell to and support agents as standalone brands. This has allowed us to grow the sales team and focus more on the premium

and luxury agents to suit Insight Vacations’ product. It’s working – business is growing and agents are commenting that they are working with sales managers who understand and offer the best quality and value touring for their clients.

Q The AAAs after-party is always a spectacular affair. What song gets you on the dancefloor? A There have been some great songs released recently, but Martin Solveig’s The Night Out will have everybody dancing.

Q What’s your top tip for an agent attending the AAAs for the first time? A This night is all about you. Bring your best outfit and come to London for the event of the year. Ensure you have plenty of fun but don’t forget that you are representing your brand or agency on the evening – and some things are never forgotten!
