Profi le: Alfavinil is one of the largest PVC compounders in Argentina. The family- owned business specializes in compounds for calendering, extrusion, injection moulding and blow moulding applications. In 2011, Alfavinil installed its seventh KraussMaffei Berstorff compounding line and in 2012 it made signifi cant investments in improving its lab equipment. Additional extrusion machinery with underwater pelletizing is scheduled to be installed within the next nine months.


Product line: Alfavinil produces rigid and fl exible PVC compounds for the energy, communication and insulation cable market; construction applications such as pipes, profi les, decking, shutters etc; footwear; and for rigid and fl exible packaging products. Flame-retardant, mineral-fi lled and lead-free grades are available in various colours.


Product strengths: Alfavinil’s compounds comply with IRAM (Argentina), BR (Brazil), NM (Mercosur), IEC (Europe) and UL (USA) standards. The company offers customers assistance with compound development, custom-made testing at its plant, and a post-sales service. Recently Alfavinil obtained ISO 9001:2008 from TUV Rheinland.
