Compounding World Asia 2015 | event preview Join us in Singapore

We look ahead to the Compounding World Asia 2015 conference, previewing the presentations lined up for the first day of this new event that takes place in Singapore in October

Compounding World Asia: previewing the first day

Following the success of the Compounding World Forum in the USA and the Compounding World Congress in Germany, Compounding World magazine and Applied Market Information (AMI) are hosting the first Compounding World Asia conference in Singapore on 6-8 October 2015. Focusing on the latest market and technology trends

for technical compounders, the conference will cover many of Compounding World magazine’s most popular themes in a live format. This will provide a rare opportunity for the Asian industry to learn first-hand about these important developments, as well as discussing them with key players from throughout the plastics supply chain. The packed conference programme features 23

expert speakers, including senior managers from leading global compounders, as well as innovative raw materials suppliers and machinery manufacturers. The first day of the conference focuses on market

trends, business strategies and legislative issues. Then the latest developments in polymers, additives and applications will be covered in detail on day two of the conference. On the third and final day, the focus will shift to processing technologies with a series of practical talks on how to get the most from compound- ing lines.

Business strategies The first session of the conference on the afternoon of Tuesday 6 October will focus on the changing business of compounding, examining the opportunities and challenges presented by the fast moving global plastics market. It will provide valuable insights into the rapidly growing demand for polymers across Asia-Pacific, plus the region’s increasing requirements for more sophisti- cated and higher performance compounds. Andy Beevers, the editor of Compounding World, will chair the conference and will also give the opening paper on changes in the global compounding industry. Using data from AMI Consulting, he will analyse global market trends and help to set the scene for the conference. Beevers is a chemical engineering graduate and has been writing, editing and publishing magazines about the international plastics industry for more than 25 years, including a title focused on the Asian industry. He led the launch of Compounding World magazine and AMI’s other plastics industry magazines six years ago. He’s therefore well positioned to provide an overview of
