applications such as gamma radiation resistant medical compounds. Also new from Reagens is a Ca-Zn system for
transparent applications. Reapak G-AV/2163 LT-OP is based on a new technology that allows the manufacture of crystal clear compounds for transparent profiles extrusion. Norac Additives has introduced Norstab 74S, which it describes as a high-grade Ca-Zn-based heat stabilizer developed specifically for semi-rigid and flexible clear or pigmented PVC applications. Norac says it can be used in specific applications where the non-toxic properties of a Ca-Zn stabilizer are important, and it also performs well against many general purpose liquid Ba-Zn stabilizers, “offering the further advantage of absence of the heavier metal barium and low VOCs.” The company’s product manager Brian Sanchez also
notes: “Norac Additives continues its focus on the expanding market of rigid foamed PVC. We are able to use Norac XL-53, which is a well-balanced mixed internal and external lubricant with co-stabilizing properties. It provides superb metal release with improved thermostability via co-stabilizing functionality,
IKA’s dust-free S-granule stabilizer is produced via extrusion and underwater granulation
all while promoting consistent cell structure.” He says Norac XL-53 can be used on its own, or as the basis for a customized lubricant package.
Taking out CaAA IKA says that it is currently focused on the development of stabilizers for rigid PVC window profiles that contain
