E HAD A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY LAST MONTH IN TEXAS. THE WORLD LIVE- stock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC) was held Saturday, June 13, at Clifton Livestock Commission, Clifton.
Wayne and Andrea Carroll, owners of Clifton Livestock Commission, tell
me they have spent the better part of 2 years preparing to host this event. Thirty auctioneers converged on Clifton to compete for the national honor. Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association was happy to be
a part of the event by hosting a meal for the competitors, and I had the honor of serving as a judge during a portion of the contest. June 13 was an exciting day that highlighted these important partners in the business of ranching — those who help cattle raisers market their cattle off the ranch and into the next segment of the beef industry. The WLAC is hosted by the Livestock Marketing Association. This
