Allyson Jones-Brimmer and Casey Whitaker have joined the staff of Animal Agriculture Alliance. As membership and marketing
manager, Jones-Brimmer is respon- sible for facilitating membership and sponsorship development by promot- ing the Alliance and its activities to relevant stakeholders, as well as pro- ducing all member communication and marketing materials.
Whitaker joins the Alliance as communications coordinator and will implement communication strategies that enhance the Alliance’s mission to connect key food industry stakehold- ers, engage food chain stakeholders and protect consumer and producer choice. Her key responsibilities will include social media engagement, written and graphic content produc- tion and maintenance of the Alliance website.
Dave Nichols, Bridgewater, Iowa, is the 2015 inductee into the Saddle and Sirloin Portrait Gallery, largely considered the highest honor in the livestock industry. The Saddle and Sirloin Gallery was established in 1903, and recognizes an individual for his or her lifetime of exceptional ser- vice to the national and international livestock business.
Starting as a tenant farm, Nich- ols Farms has grown under Nichols’ leadership to encompass 5,500 acres, 1,500 head of breeding stock and a small feedlot. Nichols Farms over- sees the breeding and marketing of 750 cooperator and franchise cows. The business has placed 42 bulls in studs and has exported cattle, semen and embryos to 30 countries, result- ing in fi ve Palermo grand champions. During its 77-year history, all revenue of Nichols Farms has been generated from cattle.
