Travelling downtown Barajas Airport is eight miles from the city. Metro stops in T2 and T4 provide services throughout Madrid. The single fare to the centre is two euros, but save money by buying the Madrid Tourist Travel pass, costing from under three euros a day for unlimited travel. The Airport Express bus costs ¤5 (£3.50) downtown and taxis charge a fixed fare of ¤30 (£22). Or travel to your hotel by shared taxi for ¤23 (£17). What to see Prado National Museum, El Escorial Royal Palace, Botanic gardens, Teatro Real, National Auditorium of Music.
BARCELONA, SPAIN
Travelling downtown Barcelona–El Prat Airport is 10 miles from the city. There is no metro station at the airport. Official black and yellow taxis charge ¤25-30 (£18-£22) to the centre. The Aerobus (faster than the TMB aeroport bus) costs ¤5.90 (£4.30) single, but best value is the RENFE train, offering a free T10 Barcelona Card for unlimited travel in the city. What to see Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter, Picasso Museum, Gaudi House Museum.
VALENCIA, SPAIN

the town centre, with a taxi charging around ¤20 (£15). The Metro fare to the city is ¤4.90, while the Aero Bus costs ¤2.50. What to see Museo de Belles Artes, medieval Torres de Serranos, Valencia Cathedral, Valencia Biopark, Plaza de Toros.
LISBON, PORTUGAL
Travelling downtown Lisbon Artela Airport is six miles from the centre of town. The Metro fare is ¤1.90, with a daily pass costing ¤6. The Aerobus charges ¤3.15, including discounts on sightseeing tours, and the standard bus tariff is ¤1.35 single, or opt for an all-day pass at ¤3.35. A taxi downtown will cost around ¤15-20 (£11-£15).
What to see Sao Jorge Castle, Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower, Teatro Camoes, Galouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
PORTO, PORTUGAL
Travelling downtown Porto Francisco de Sa Carneiro airport is located seven miles from the city. The fastest and cheapest route downtown is the Metro, costing ¤2.35. This
compares to the bus at ¤8 and a taxi fare of ¤20-30. (£15-£22). What to see Casa da Musica, Igreja da Santa Clara, Episcopal Palace, Sea Life, Queijo Castle.
