Manchester is awash with new hotels in 2015. Laura Gelder picks out an eclectic mix of the best additions
HOTEL GOTHAM You might think you've stumbled on a private detective agency when you hit the website for Hotel Gotham. Rest assured it's the gateway to details on all its wonders, including the listed building's 60 monochrome retro rooms and Inner Sanctum Suites. The hotel is now open for business.
KING STREET TOWNHOUSE Opening this summer in the Upper King Street conservation area of Manchester city centre, this Grade II listed building, formerly a bank, is new from Eclectic Hotels. It will include 40 bedrooms and suites, the Tavern Bar & Restaurant, Afternoon Tea Rooms, a south facing roof garden and event space for up to 170 people, plus a rooftop spa pool, treatment rooms, gym and dedicated conference and event space.
MOTEL ONE 'Great design for little money' is the motto for this Manchester Picadilly hotel, due to open this summer. The hotel's One Lounge will refl ect the city's industrial revolution as well as its more recent Britpop era. The functional rooms will feature stylish granite and glass rain showers, LOEWE fl at screen TVs and Artemide Tolomeo mood lighting. The reception offers iPad hire and there is wifi access throughout.
INNSIDE MANCHESTER Located in the city's First Street development close to the business district, Deansgate and Manchester Central, the hotel has over 200 guestrooms and is the fi rst UK property of the premium business brand from the Melia group. The hotel's unique food concept, Street on First ('Food for a social mood') enables diners to enjoy Mediterranean dishes based on their moods. There's also a Wellness Suite with Finnish sauna, aromatic steam room and gym.

HOTEL FOOTBALL Yep, now you can literally eat, drink and sleep football. This Old Trafford hotel is the brain- child of Manchester United legends, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs. Expect subtle memorabilia, a fi ve-a-side pitch on the rooftop with views to the stadium and pillows embroidered with 'dreaming of victory'. It's not all play though – there are fl exible meeting and event spaces too.
COW HOLLOW HOTEL
Opening mid-2015 in Manchester's Northern Quarter, a fi ve-minute walk from Piccadilly Station and the business district, this high- tech, boutique 17-room hotel is set in a restored Victorian textile warehouse. Rooms feature king-size Hypnos beds and cutting-edge technology such as free fi bre optic wifi with individual routers in each room and Apple TVs. Bathrooms boast
Italian porcelain and Brazilian slate, bronze rainfall showers and REN products.
Gourmet breakfast bags are delivered to guests' rooms.
