Amtrak


Two Amtrak routes serve the Green Mountain State. The Ethan Allen Express departs Rutland Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Arrivals at the


Rutland station are Saturday through Thursday at 8:48 p.m., and Fridays at 11:13 p.m. The equipment will lay over near the train station, located behind the shopping mall (formerly the site of Rutland Railway’s freight yard). On the other side of the state at


White River Junction, the southbound Vermonter is slated at 11:13 a.m. and northbound at 6:29 p.m. The route of the Vermonter has been subject to multi- million dollar investments by Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut to speed up travel times and eventually increase the frequency of service. There are discussions underway to reinstate
