The British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame has named the seven industry stalwarts who will be inducted this year. The Hall of Fame annual dinner will be held at London’s Dorchester Hotel on April 13, and for the first time is being

Bill Munro is chairman of Barrhead Travel Group, which has shops in Scotland, the north of England and Northern Ireland, in addition to a successful website and tour operation. Founded by Munro in 1975, the group
has grown from a single high street shop to a business with 850 employees across 56 outlets including retail agencies, business travel offices and contact centres. Barrhead also operates its own summer
charter flight programme from three UK airports to destinations in the Mediterranean, taking 22,000 holidaymakers away each year.
Gerald Lawless
Gerald Lawless is president and group chief executive of Jumeirah Group, and has helped establish Jumeirah as one of the world’s top luxury hotel brands. He joined the company in 1997 following 23
years with Forte Hotels, which culminated in him setting up operations in the Middle East. Lawless is a member of the executive committee and vice-chairman for corporate governance of the World Travel & Tourism
Council, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s global agenda council for aviation, travel and tourism.
Peter Kerkar
Peter Kerkar is group chief executive of Cox & Kings, with responsibility for the business’s overall leadership, strategy, global centralised buying and international growth. Under his leadership, Cox & Kings has become the premier travel company in India, as well as a brand leader in the premium sector in the UK, US and Japan.
Kerkar has overseen a growth strategy for Cox & Kings, which included the acquisition of Holidaybreak for £312 million in 2011.
