MILESTONE The late Billy

Hardwick sandwiched his 1965 Firestone Tournament of Champions title between Bowler of the Year honors in 1963 and 1969. It was the first year Firestone sponsored that tournament, marking the dawn of a 29-year period in which that brand became so synonymous with the PBA Tour’s signature event that the Tournament of Champions widely came to be known simply as “The Firestone.” This month, the PBA marks the 50th anniversary of the Tournament of Champions at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis. We celebrate that milestone in PBA Xtra, with our list of the ten greatest moments in Tournament of Champions history.
