capacitors

and is typically used as a discharge or balancing resistor.

Discharge resistors are routinely connected

across large value output

capacitors found in electrical and electronic equipment which may store dangerous levels of energy after the equipment has been turned off.

Providing a safe discharge avoids any hazardous conditions when connecting other equipment or during service or repair. Balancing resistors are used when a number of capacitors are connected in series to ensure voltages across any individual capacitor does not exceed its maximum rating.

The ARCOL RW discharge resistor provides simple to fit screw mounting, is rated up to 22 watts, has a wide operating temperature range and is RoHS compliant. Three power ratings are available 10W, with ohmic value range of 1-15kΩ, 13W with values from 1-2kΩ and 22W from 1-33kΩ

Key specifications include operating temperature -55°C to +200°C, overload/over-voltage 10 times

New range of Hipot and Insulation Resistance testers

elonic Instruments have introduced a new range of Hipot (Flash) and Insulation Resistance testers manufactured by

Japan based Kikusui. Designated the TOS5300 the three models in the range are designed for use in Withstanding Voltage and Insulation Resistance testing to help ensure the safety of Electrical / Electronic components / equipment. Incorporating and innovative PWM amplifier that achieves high stability and has an input voltage regulation of.3%.

The series offer rise and fall time control of the test voltage and a stable output which is unaffected

by mains voltage variations, plus the ability to select 50 or 60Hz test frequency. Upper and lower current limits can be set within the range of 0.01mA to 110mA in AC mode and 0.01mA to 11mA in DC mode. AC test voltage is settable from 0.05kV to 5kV. D.C test voltages can be varied from 0 to 6kV. All models will operate from any global AC input voltages and frequencies; and are equipped with a USB interface. Also available for hire.

BL 550 from Knick: miniature set-point alarm relay with changeover output

he BL 550 set-point alarm relay from Knick's BasicLine program is a versatile and reliable solution for standard signal monitoring and control with an optimized price/performance ratio. The compact device comes in a 6 mm DIN rail housing with a potentiometer on the front for free adjustment of the switching thresholds. 0..20 mA, 4..20 mA, or 0..10 V input signal ranges, switching hysteresis, and delay are set via DIP switches. The changeover relay allows for the output to be used both with load and no-load currents.

All BasicLine devices provide galvanic three-port isolation, a standard feature of Knick products. The BL 550 set-point alarm relay is CE-compliant and UL-certified.
