Bezel free SAW touch technology D

eliver fast and accurate touch response in a sleek design with Advantech Display Systems’ edge-to-edge (E2e) Surface Acoustic

M12x1 Power connectors & sockets T

he M12 family of connectors are used in many different applications from signal transmission to sensor technology and data transmission in field bus technology. The new M12 power connectors with T- and S- coding extend the usage into the power range. CONEC now provides solutions for compact and economical power connectors resulting from the miniaturization of drives, encoders and decentralized equipment cabling.

The connectors with S-coding

have been designed for 630 V and 12 A. and with T- coding for low voltage supply of 63 V and 12 A. Benefits:

• compact design

• High power transmission • Cost advantage

• different cable qualtities Applications:

• Drive technology •

Assembly and production lines • Housing and device connections • Mechanical engineering

Production flow on RoundTracks I

Wave (SAW) technology. Traditional SAW technology has long been chosen for its optical clarity, provided by the clear glass cover, its durability and fast and accurate touch control even when wearing gloves or using a stylus. By transferring the transducers and reflect strips from the top to the bottom of the glass a bezel-free touch screen can be created. This enables faster and easier product integration and creates a sleek, flat surface. The functional design has added benefits with the glass cover protecting against liquid, dirt and dust. Any contaminant on the glass surface can be easily wiped away and does not affect touch performance. The flat surface also means the whole of the touch screen is active making it ideal for retail POS, hospitality, gaming and interactive signage applications. Available on panel sizes ranging from 5.4in to 32in, E2e SAW can be specified as single or dual touch.

VC Z with a new core: Innovative generation of intelligent cameras

T

he new camera generation is based on the board camera series VCSBC nano Z. With a footprint of 40 x 65 mm, these compact systems are especially easy to integrate into machines and plants. Users can choose between two enclosed camera types: the VC nano Z, which has housing dimensions of 80 x 45 x 20 mm, and the VC pro Z, which measures 90 x 58 x 36 mm and can be fitted with a lens and an integrated LED illumination. All models feature a serial and a Gigabit or 100Mbit Ethernet interface as well as up to twelve programmable I/Os, a trigger input, and a flash trigger output. 512 MB RAM and 16 GB Flash are available for program and image storage. Five global shutter CMOS sensors from different manufacturers provide resolutions between Wide VGA and 4.2 megapixels.

ntroducing one-piece flow assembly, Haas Schleifmaschinen from Trossingen, Germany, have improved the quality of

their production planning and cut down throughput time. The new assembly line consists of nine stations. Every three days, the assemblies are moved one station ahead. Therefore, customers can be given the precise acceptance date seven weeks before the start of final assembly. RoundTrack technology from STROTHMANN Machines & Handling enables ergonomic, resource-friendly transport of the machines. The intra-logistics system is very plain and unobtrusive. Three rails were installed in the shop floor and backfilled with screed.

The polished RoundTracks pose no obstacle when walking across. The grinding centers weighing several tons are placed on two compact carts. Due to the system’s minimal running resistance, even fully loaded carts can be moved by hand. The one-time investment in floor rails and multi-purpose carts enabled Haas to realize a long-life intra-logistics solution that creates no extra operating costs.

Effective, economic corrosion protection: nsd tupH for aluminum drives

• N

ORD DRIVESYSTEMS manufacture permanently corrosion-resistant drives by means of the nsd tupH sealed surface conversion system. Aluminum drives are thereby given a smooth, ultra-hard surface that, in contrast to paint, is unaffected by blows or scratches. The drives are tested and proven in applications with a maritime atmosphere. Previous to that, they have proven their resilience against blistering per ASTM D714, corrosion per ASTM D610-08, and scribe per ASTM D1654-08 according to DIN EN ISO 2409. Additionally, ASTM D3170 Gravelometer test showed absolutely no loss of adhesion or chipping. The ASTM B117-09 salt spray test according to DIN EN ISO 9227 produced no corrosion even after 2,000 hours. In demanding atmospheres, nsd tupH drives can be used much beyond the usual service life of paint-coated systems. Their resilience and prolonged service life significantly reduces the service and maintenance requirements placed on customers.
