BC Inducts 61 Liturgical Ministers for 2014–2015 School Year During the Mass of the Holy Spirit, the first BC Mass of the
new school year on September 26, 61 Bergen Catholic students were inducted as Liturgical Ministers. They will assist BC school chaplain Fr. Tony Ricarte during all religious functions
throughout the school year. Thirty-nine seniors will serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, thirteen juniors will be lectors, and nine sophomores will volunteer as altar servers during all school Masses.
Second Annual Academic Awards Day Honors BC’s Excellence in the Classroom For the second consecutive year, Bergen Catholic hosted an
Academic Awards Day, which honored excellence in the class- room for BC’s finest students from all four classes. The day began with an Honors Assembly in front of the entire student body in Hoehl Gymnasium, where members of the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes were honored and pre- sented before their peers as the school’s finest academic hon- orees for the previous school year. Later that evening, the Academic Awards Night ceremony
included the induction of members of the junior and senior classes into the Bergen Catholic chapter of the National Honor Society. Students were also inducted into the various honor so- cieties offered at BC based on the various disciplines offered at BC. The Academic Awards Day was created to honor and in- spire all Bergen Catholic students in their crusade for excel- lence in all their endeavors, especially in their academic pursuits.
