letter from the publisher N
ovember is here and the pace of life revs up—if we let it. Take a deep breath and
turn to “Bring Back the Magic” (p. 20) for some real words of wisdom. It is so easy to get caught up in the commercialism of the season. We need to “unplug” and focus on gifts, of creativity, instead of rushing out to
frantically buy whatever the latest hot item is….. Wayne Dyer’s daughter Serena remembers fondly her
growing up years (p. 16) when her parents wisely gave their children their greatest gift. Without sacrifi cing their personal talents, the parents encouraged them to follow their own dreams while following this advice. My mother remembers the mystery in pre-Christmas
days when she and her sister were instructed to close their eyes while her mom and grand-mother tried “some- thing” on the two children. They did NOT PEEK while fi lled with questions….Christmas morning revealed two quilted, fl owered bathrobes, cozy, just the right size. A gift remembered fondly to this day. Thanksgiving is almost here. Take time to count all our blessings—both material and of-the-spirit. May our contributions to family gatherings, whether food or holiday surprises, come from our hearts. What can be your special gifts?
