Room S320C/D Education Track: Safety and Risk Management Session Coordinator: Eve Gregory, C & S Aviation Services Moderated by: Amber Finchum, State Farm Presented by: Donald J. Chupp, Fireside Partners LLC This Session is eligible for CAM application and recertification credit. 2014 marked the first year in aviation history an air carrier was fined by the Department of Transportation for “failing to adhere to the assurances in its family assistance plan.” 2014 also bore witness the defining aviation emergency of our time - the inability to locate an overdue transport category aircraft. Both events send a clear message to the entire aviation community - emergency response planning and corporate responsibility are taking center stage. This session will address several fundamental questions: Is your flight operation prepared for the unique challenges of an aircraft accident? Do you have the necessary resources to address the immediate and long term needs of crew and passenger families? Can you protect your company’s reputation during the most difficult of times? The presenter will highlight the importance of emergency planning and family assistance and training best practices while illuminating why this is a vital component of your SMS and ERP program.
